Starting from 4 January 2012, the use of Safety camera services is illegal in France. This means that you are forbidden to make use of any information regarding the location of safety cameras. Having the Safety camera service enabled on your mobile device is against the law and attracts penalties.
To stay within the law, we advise you to perform an update of your Safety camera service. This will remove Safety cameras for France from your device.
Update Safety cameras directly on your mobile device, using Wi-Fi or a mobile Internet connection.
1. Start the ROUTE 66 Maps application.
2. Select "Options - Show shortcuts - Update safety cameras".
Alternatively, you can update Safety cameras using the ROUTE 66 Sync computer application.
1. Install ROUTE 66 Sync on your computer. You can download ROUTE 66 Sync from http://www.66.com/support/index.php?cid=VE&opt=updates_detail&p=26 .
2. Connect your mobile device to the computer via a USB cable, in "Data transfer" or "Mass storage" mode.
3. ROUTE 66 Sync automatically checks for new content updates.
4. Click "Yes" when the following message is displayed: "You have purchased content for which free updates are available. Do you want to download the updates now?".
5. A window opens displaying all available updates. Click "Update".
6. Sign in to your ROUTE 66 account and the content update is performed.
7. If no update is found automatically, please also perform a manual check. In the menu bar of the ROUTE 66 Sync application select "View - My content" and then "My content - Search for content updates".
8. A window opens displaying all available updates. Click "Update".
Upon completion of the update process, the Safety camera information for France has been removed from your device.

To receive traffic information, on the navigation application please go to “Option – Extras – Traffic information”. Here choose “Options – Update”.
In order to be able to use the traffic information service, you must have a valid license and an Internet connection on the phone.
When using the Traffic information service you have the possibility to receive traffic information as follows:
- around GPS position: if your current GPS position is established and you select ”Update”, the application searches and retrieves the traffic info messages around the GPS position.
- around cursor position: if your current GPS position is not established but the cursor is placed on the map, when selecting ”Update”, the application searches and retrieves the traffic info messages around the cursor position.
- around the selected map location: if you wish to receive traffic information for a certain location please go first to the ”Search” option, and search for your location. In the list of search results choose the desired location and then select ”Show on map”. When choosing the “Update” option in the traffic info service, the application searches and retrieves the traffic info messages around the selected map location.
- along the calculated route: in case you have calculated a route and select the option ”Update” in the traffic info service, the application searches and retrieves the traffic info messages along the calculated route.
In all of the above situations the application searches and retrieves the traffic info messages available for an area of 50 km radius around GPS / cursor position / selected map location / along the calculated route. The messages that are displayed first are those that are closest to the GPS / cursor position / selected map location / calculated route.

In order to use the “Weather” extra service you must have a valid license for this service and an Internet connection on your phone.
Start the Navigation application on the device. Then go to “Options – Extras – Weather – Options – Add place”. You can search for a specific location or find out the weather conditions for your current position.
Once you added places, you can update the forecast by selecting “Options – Extras – Weather – Options – Update”.
To be able to update the weather information, the following settings must be enabled:
1. “Options – Tools – Go online”.
2. “Options – Tools – Settings – Extras – Network connection”, choose “Allow always” or “Ask always”.
3. “Options – Tools – Settings – Extras – Access point”, set your current access point according to your Internet provider access point.
4. “Options – Tools – Settings – Extras – Weather interval”, choose “Hourly” or “Daily”.
