It is possible to calculate a route over sea, but at the moment, none of the ROUTE 66 applications can skip segments of calculated routes. In order to find out only the number of kilometers that must be driven, the distance by ferry can be subtracted from the entire route distance.
The route recalculation occurs due to a traffic information update, or when a detour from the initially planned route was done.
The User Manual is available in digital format (on the CD/DVD) in the ROUTE 66 package.
The User Manual is also available for download on the ROUTE 66 website in the “Support – Manuals” section.
Yes, the Pedestrian navigation mode is available in the ROUTE 66 products.
You must take into consideration that the quality of the navigation instructions for pedestrians is lower than the quality of instructions for car navigation. This is caused by limitations of the GPS system, not by limitations of the ROUTE 66 Mobile software. When moving on foot, the motion is more “Stop/Go” and the speed is generally low. This results in larger uncertainties in the directional information reported by the GPS receiver, on which the ROUTE 66 software depends for making correct and timely navigation instructions.
The route planning and navigation do not imply any additional costs. However the TMC service (traffic information) involves some extra costs. This service is optional. It helps you to avoid traffic jams, road works or accidents via dynamic routing.
The up-to-date traffic information that is downloaded from our web site is free of charge. The only additional cost is the GPRS DATA (not WAP) subscription needed to access the ROUTE 66 traffic info server.
You can search for an address by using any of the following combinations:
- by street name and city name
- by house number and street name
- by street name and postcode
- by postcode and city name
Please note that the ROUTE 66 application does not use the full postcode to search for cities. Please enter a part of the postcode (a 4 digit number) as search string.
Searching for a place or destination by latitude and longitude is not available for this ROUTE 66 product.
Unfortunately the option of installing other maps using a Mac is not available. You must have a Windows based PC with a USB interface (+ memory card reader and writer) in order to install another map.
Please insert all the necessary address information in your phone's Contacts list. Then, in the ROUTE 66 Mobile 7 S60 application, search for the contacts you previously inserted in the Contacts list.
The IMEI (short for International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique number given to every single mobile phone.
This number can be found by dialing on the phone the following code: *#06# (just like dialing a phone number) and the IMEI number will be displayed on the phone screen.
This software requires a mobile phone with an internal memory of at least 6MB, running the Symbian Operating System version 6.1 or later, with the Series 60 interface version 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0.
The product is available as 3 packages: kit, software only, and upgrade.
Please note that the kit includes either a DV (RS)-MMC or a mini-SD card. Therefore the package is only compatible with the mobile phones that work with an MMC/mini-SD card.
The software only version includes only a CD/DVD and this package is compatible with a wider range of mobile phones. Please make sure you select the right package for your mobile phone model.
The upgrade version is available for the ROUTE 66 customers only (who already own a ROUTE 66 product key).

If you want to navigate along a route that consists of multiple waypoints, use the "Plan a route" mode to plan the route, then select "Save route" in order to save the waypoints.
In order to use the saved route to navigate towards multiple waypoints, select "Plan a route --> Options --> Open route". After you have opened the route, select "Options --> Navigate to".
Please note that you can only navigate towards one waypoint at a time. Every time you reach a waypoint, this will be deleted and the route will be automatically calculated towards the next waypoint.
The navigation software allows you to set:
* Safety speed - to set a warning speed value at which on the screen instead of the map only an arrow will be displayed.
* Alarm speed - to set the speed at which you will be warned that you are driving too fast.
* Alarm type - to select the type of alarm that will warn you when driving too fast (Acoustic alarm/Visual alarm).
Your application is probably set at the alarm speed of 160 km/h when it starts warning you that you are driving too fast. As soon as you slow down below this speed, your application runs normally.
Please select "Preferences", move the joystick to the right and in the "Navigation" tab you will find the above mentioned options to change them as you wish.
By installing the update file version 7.0.989 a new option will be available in the Preferences menu > General tab: Calling/Navigation.
This option allows you to make settings regarding the voice instructions during the navigation. The following options are available:
- Dim navigation: the voice instructions will be heard dimly in the background during a phone conversation
- Equalize: the voice instructions will be heard as loud as your conversation on the phone.
- Beep: when a voice instruction occurs, you will hear a beep during your phone conversation
- Silent: the voice instructions will not be heard during the phone conversation
