USING SAMSUNG LBS

Do This First

  • 1. Fully charge the battery of your device.
  • 2. For internet access and data transfer, insert a SIM card; contact your network provider for configuration and fee details.
  • 3. Power on your device, find the navigation application in your Applications list and start it.
  • 4. If the product you purchased is pre-configured to unlock (download and activate) certain items or services, select Yes in the Get licence from server? dialog. You can also do this later (More > Contents > Synchronise licence keys). Select No to go to the next step. If you own a voucher code you can unlock items or services. Write the voucher code. You can also do this later (More > Contents > Enter voucher code).
  • We advise you to use the ROUTE 66 Sync home application.
  • 5. If the GPS signal is strong enough, your current position will be indicated on the map as a green dot.

The Map


While you browse maps, you can see the following: To view more or less map details, zoom in or zoom out. Use the zoom icons on the touch-screen.

The Compass

This device incorporates a magnetic compass. The accuracy of the compass may be affected by metal objects and electromagnetic fields.

To calibrate the compass rotate the device on all axes.

Options


Use the Options menu bar located at the bottom of your screen to access the main features of SAMSUNG LBS:

  • Select to find locations for your navigation and routes.
  • Select to access navigation options and map browsing options.
  • Select More to view or download additional content for your device, to send or save information, to customize your application.
  • Select Route to define and use routes. This option is available during navigation or route simulation; also, when you are stationary.
  • Select to return to the navigation or simulation screen. This option is available during map browsing; also, when the cursor (pin) is activated. This option replaces Route when the Route option is not available.
  • Select the full screen icons to show or hide the Options bar.

More

The More menu contains the following options:
  • To buy additional services and content, select More > Contents.
  • To stop the current navigation, select More > Stop navigation. This option is accessible only during navigation!
  • To stop the current simulation, select More > Stop simulation. This option is accessible only during route simulation!
  • To customize your application, select More > Settings.
  • To send a map snapshot to compatible devices, select More > Send > Map as image. To send the current route's waypoints, select More > Send > Route.
  • To save a map snapshot, select More > Save > Map as image. To save your current GPS position as a favourite, select More > Save > GPS position.
  • To view on the screen your current GPS position, select More > Current position.

Tap the map to activate the cursor (pin). While the cursor (pin) is visible on the map, the More menu bar contains additional operations available to the user.
  • To save your cursor position as a favourite, select More > Save > Cursor position.
  • To send your cursor position to other compatible devices, select More > Send > Cursor position.

The cursor menu

Tap the map to activate the cursor. Tap the cursor to activate the cursor menu.
  • Select Navigate to to drive or walk to the selected location. A valid navigation licence is required.
  • To add the selected place to a route, select Add to route.
  • Select Show details to view the address details of a location.

Search by

To find a place to go to, select Search by.
Places are stored in an extensive collection of cities, addresses, house numbers, postcodes and points-of-interest. You can point to any map area. You can even create your own list of favourite places.
Select Keyword and use keywords to find all addresses, city names, house numbers or postcodes, history records, personal favourites stored on your device.
For an address search, select Address. Country/Region* and City/Postcode* fields are mandatory. Street and Number fields are optional.
Hundreds of points-of-interest might be around you (or around the departure, destination, cursor position or along the route). To find what's near you and how far, select Points-of-interest.
To re-use a previous destination, select History.
To navigate to a favourite, select Favourites. At the very beginning, this list is empty. To save places as favourites, select More > Save > Cursor position > New favourite or Update favourite by using the Options menu bar in the main map screen. To use the special favourites Home or Office, first define each of them (search and then save each item).

Using Search Results

The contextual menu can be opened by the tap-and-hold gesture on the list item.
A simple tap shows that list item on the map.

Walk to Your Destination

The on-foot travelling support guides you in pedestrian zones, parks, small roads and pathways, avoids highways, ignores one-way streets and turn restrictions.
  • 1. Find your destination in the Search by collections or on the map.
  • 2. To walk to your destination, select Navigate to from the cursor menu. On-screen instructions are always provided.
  • 3. Select the route type: Pedestrian.
  • To choose your default method of navigation, select More > Settings > Navigation > Travel mode. To pick yourself the travelling method each time you start a navigation, select More > Settings > Navigation > Travel mode > Always ask.
  • 4. View the route preview and then select Start navigation to start walking.

To stop walking, select More > Stop navigation.
You can start walking only after you buy a navigation licence from the online store. Refer to the Contents > Navigation section for details.

Drive to Your Destination

The car navigation takes into account speed limits and driving restrictions, and excludes pedestrian zones, parks, and pathways from the calculated route.
  • 1. Find your destination in the Search by collections or on the map.
  • 2. To drive to your destination, select Navigate to from the cursor menu. On-screen instructions and spoken instructions are provided.
  • S3. Select the route type: Fastest car / Shortest by car / Fastest lorry / Shortest by lorry.
  • To choose your default method of navigation, select More > Settings > Navigation > Travel mode. To pick yourself the travelling method each time you start a navigation, select More > Settings > Navigation > Travel mode > Always ask.
  • 4. View the route preview and then select Start navigation and start driving.

Voice guidance and on-screen instructions are available.
To change the language of the voice guidance, select More > Settings > Sound > Voice language.
To adjust the volume of the voice instructions, use the buttons of the device or select More > Settings > Sound > Volume level and Dynamic volume.
To avoid a route section ahead, select Show shortcuts > Define road block and specify the distance ahead to be avoided. The route is automatically recalculated.
To stop driving, select More > Stop navigation.
You can start driving only after you buy a navigation licence from the online store. Refer to the Contents > Navigation section for details.

Show shortcuts

To access application shortcuts, select Show shortcuts.
Select Navigate home to drive or walk to the selected location. A valid navigation licence is required.
Select Navigate to office to drive or walk to the selected location. A valid navigation licence is required.
To receive the latest safety camera information, select Update cameras. First activate the Safety Cameras service!
To view a classical 2D map or a panoramic 3D map, select 2D perspective or 3D perspective.
To turn on or off the voice guidance, select Mute or Unmute.
To use bright colours or dim colours, select Night colours or Day colours.
To keep your GPS arrow always oriented upwards, regardless of your actual travelling direction, select Rotate map on.
To display or hide favourites and landmarks on the map, please select Favourites.
To display in full screen mode the change of direction ahead during navigation or simulation, select Arrow view on.
To choose your default method of navigation, select Travel mode. To pick yourself the travelling method each time you start a navigation, select Travel mode > Always ask.
To display or hide points-of-interest on the map, select Set point of interest.
To avoid parts of the current route, select Define road block. This option is accessible only during navigation!

Contents

To buy additional services and content, select More > Contents.
A network connection is required. To manage your network settings, select More > Settings > Network > Network profile.
We advise you to use the ROUTE 66 Sync home application. The transfer speed is much higher. Refer to the Using ROUTE 66 Sync section for details.

You can do the following actions:
  • Download free maps.
  • Activate services (navigation, traffic, global weather, safety cameras), languages for voice guidance, and colour schemes.
  • Evaluate certain products for a limited period.

Store

There are several ways of activating extra content:
  • To pay for a product with your credit card, select Buy license.
  • To 'evaluate' a product for a limited period of time, free-of-charge, select Buy license > Try for free. After the evaluation period, you must purchase a licence or the item will be locked.
  • Synchronise licence keys
  • Enter voucher code

These options are available for all types of products available in the online store.

License

If the product you purchased is pre-configured to unlock (download and activate) certain items or services, select More > Contents > Synchronise licence keys.
To use a voucher code, select More > Contents > Enter voucher code. A voucher code may have been included with your product.

Navigation

To buy a navigation licence, select More > Contents > Navigation.
A navigation licence entitles you to travel in a particular region and for a specified period of time.

    Select the licence type you need:
  • Drive and walk: drive or walk to your destination. On-screen instructions are always provided. Spoken instructions are provided only when you drive. Select More drive and walk. Select the country you are interested in. Download the licence. Select the validity period. Select the payment method. Once the payment is confirmed, the licence is activated.
  • Advanced guidance: Use speed limits and lane information when you drive. Select More advanced guidance. Select the country you are interested in. Download the licence. Select the validity period. Select the payment method. Once the payment is confirmed, the licence is activated.
  • Traffic Information: To activate the traffic information warning system, select More > Contents > Traffic information > More traffic information and buy a licence. To receive traffic information, select Update. To receive automatic updates, select More > Settings > Network > Traffic interval. A traffic message indicates the road code, the major city and region, the date and time when incident was reported, the road segment, the type of incident (accidents, road works, slow traffic, bottlenecks), expected duration of incident, and driving suggestions (detours) if possible. To view an incident on the map, select it from the list. To view the list of available countries for traffic information, visit the online store.
  • Voices: To download additional languages, select More > Contents > Voices > More voices. The driving instructions provided during car navigation are spoken in the language you selected in More > Settings > Sound > Voice language. To adjust the volume of the voice guidance, select More > Settings > Sound > Volume or More > Settings > Sound > Dynamic volume, or use the hardware buttons.

Maps

To buy or view additional maps, select More > Contents > Maps.
Several types of maps are compatible with your navigation application:
  • Road maps: Select More road maps. Identify the map you need. Download the map.
  • 3D and discover: Select More 3D and discover. Identify the map you need. Download the map. Select the payment method. Select the validity period. Once the payment is confirmed, the licence is activated.
In Online mode: When you navigate / browse and reach a map area not physically available on your device, that area is automatically downloaded. Refer to More > Settings > Navigation > Online map download to find out how to enable the online map browsing.
In Offline mode: You can browse only the maps you already have on your device.
  • Safety Cameras: To activate the safety cameras service select More > Contents > Safety cameras > More safety cameras and buy a licence. To receive newer information, select Update. To receive automatic updates, select More > Settings > Network > Camera interval. Browse the safety cameras categories and select a location. To view a safety camera on the map, select it from the list. Traffic controls can be speed limits, speed cameras, traffic lights, bus lane sectors, pedestrian crossings. To view the list of available countries for safety cameras, visit the online store.
  • Colour Schemes: To download additional colour schemes, select More > Contents > Colour schemes > More colour schemes. To apply a different colour scheme to the map and the navigation bar, select a different item from the list.

Extras

  • Weather: To receive weather forecasts for any place worldwide, select More > Contents > Weather > More weather and buy a licence. To add the cities (weather stations) you are interested in, select Weather > Add city > Search by. To receive automatic updates, select More > Settings > Network > Weather interval. To view a weather forecast, select Viewed by day, Normal graph, Extended graph.

Routes

To plan new routes or to open existing routes, select More > Route.
A route contains at least 2 locations (departure and destination).

  • 2. Provide the route name.
  • 3. To choose the departure, select Departure and use the Search by categories.
  • 4. To choose the destination, select Destination and use the Search by categories.
  • 5. If your route will contain several places, select Add waypoint and use the Search by categories.
  • 6. Select Save.
  • 7. Select Start navigation.
    If you don't have the corresponding navigation licence, buy one from the online store.
  • 8. Select the first visit.
  • 9. View the route preview and then select Start navigation.

Use Routes

The list of routes can be accessed in two ways:
  • when the cursor menu is enabled (pin), select More > Routes and then open a route.
  • when you navigate, select Route.

When the list of routes is displayed, the following options are available:
  • To define a new route, select New route.
  • To permanently remove a route select Delete.

To open a route, simply select it from the list of routes. When a route is open, the following options are available:
  • To start the navigation, based on the current route, select Start navigation.
  • To view on the map a route overview, select Show route.
  • To check the route description, select Show route details.
  • To play a demo of a route, select Simulate route.
  • To send the route waypoints (coordinates) to other users, select Send route.
  • To modify the route details, select Edit. To add other route stages, select Edit > Add waypoint.

Settings

Settings > Navigation

To set your travelling preferences, select More > Settings > Navigation.
To choose your default method of navigation, select Travel mode. To pick yourself the travelling method each time you start a navigation, select Travel mode > Always ask.
To see a route preview before starting the navigation, select Route overview.
Select Online map download to use or download additional information (online data) only this time or each time you need it. An internet connection is established. You will need to pay network fees. The amount of data you have downloaded is displayed in the upper-right area of the screen.
Do not select Online map download to use only the information already available on your device (offline data). No internet connection is established. No additional content is downloaded.
To view additional information when approaching street junctions, select Lane information.
To exclude motorways, tax roads, ferryboats or water crossings from your routes, select Avoid motorways, Avoid toll roads, or Avoid ferries.
To automatically zoom in when your cruising speed decreases, and to automatically zoom out when your cruising speed increases, select Automatic zooming.
Select Turn compass on/off to activate the functionality of the built-in magnetic compass. Deselect Turn compass on/off to deactivate the compass feature.

Settings > Display and light

To set the look and behaviour of the map, select More > Settings > Display and light.

Settings > Display and light > Map display

To use bright or dim colours, select Night Colours. Use Automatic to let the application switch automatically from day colours to night colours when sunrise or sunset occurs, or when you enter or exit a tunnel.
To choose a map theme, select Colour schemes. Load additional themes from the online shop.
To change the perspective of the navigation screen, select View mode: 2D perspective, 3D perspective, Satellite.
To allow three-dimensional artwork (3D buildings, 3D landmarks) to be displayed on the map, select 3D objects. You need a licence.
To set the 3D perspective effect, select Viewing angle.
To display or hide points-of-interest on the map, select Points of interest.
To improve the quality of the image under bright conditions, select mDNIe [mobile Digital Natural Image engine].

Settings > Display and light > Map screen layout

To show or hide the map scale in 2D perspective, select Show scale.
To display or hide favourites (landmarks) on the map, select Show favourites.
To display in full screen mode the current change of direction during navigation or simulation, select Arrow view. The arrow is bright, the navigation screen is dim.
To display in full screen mode the current change of direction during navigation or simulation, select Notify. The arrow is transparent, the navigation screen is bright.
To keep your GPS arrow always oriented upwards, regardless of your actual travelling direction, selectRotate map.

Settings > Display and light > Units

To set the system of measurement, select More > Settings > Display and light > Units.

Settings > Display and light > Backlight

To set the screen illumination, select More > Settings > Display and light > Backlight.

Settings > Sound

The sound controls are available in More > Settings > Sound.
To create a correlation between sound level and cruising speed, select Dynamic volume.
To set the sound intensity, select Volume.
To set the language of the voice guidance, select Voice language.

Settings > Speed

To set the speed values you prefer for all types of roads, select More > Settings > Speed. The speed values are used to calculate the routes and to estimate the travel time.
View the assigned speed for all road types. If necessary, specify a different speed.

Settings > Alarm

To be warned in advance that you are approaching a specific location, select More > Settings > Alarm. The warning will include a suggestive icon and the remaining distance to that location.
Set warnings for a particular category, for several categories, or for all categories. To use the default alarm settings, simply select the categories you are interested in.

You can customise your own alarm settings:
  • Select Visual alarm to display a warning icon. Select Warning sound to play a warning sound.
  • Select Warning distance to choose the distance from you to that location when the warning is displayed.
  • Select Warn only along route if you are interested in locations exactly near the road. Unselect Warn only along route if you are interested in locations in the road proximity of 50 meters / 60 yards.

To set safety camera warnings, you need a licence (More > Contents > Safety cameras).
To set your maximum cruising speed, select More > Settings > Alarm > Speed alarm > Speed alarm and specify a value. When you drive and reach this speed, you are warned.
To choose the method of warning (acoustic / visual), select More > Settings > Alarm > Speed alarm > Alarm type.

Settings > GPS information

To check the quality of the satellite data, select More > Settings > GPS information. The antenna symbol is green when the GPS position is available.

Settings > Statistics

To check the travelling summary, select More > Settings > Statistics.

Settings > Network

To configure your usage of additional services and internet connections, select More > Settings > Network.
To manage your network settings, select Network profile.
To set the frequency of receiving traffic data, weather data, or safety cameras data, select Traffic Interval, Weather Interval, Camera interval. These options are accessible if you have the corresponding licences.

Settings > Disclaimer

To read the notice and disclaimer for this product, select More > Settings > Disclaimer.

Settings > About

To display the copyright information and version number, select More > Settings > About.

Exit

To close the application, select the End Call key on your phone.

USING ROUTE 66 Sync

Use our desktop application to:
  • activate and download additional content for your navigation software;
  • search for locations worldwide;
  • plan routes and transfer them to your device.

Connecting Your Device to Your PC

Bada devices

  • 1. If the navigation application on your mobile device is running, close it.
  • 2. Connect the device to the USB port of your computer.
  • 3. Select Data transfer / Mass storage mode on the device.

Notes:
- Make sure the memory card is inserted into your mobile device and that the card is not write protected.
- For first time use, start and then close the navigation application before attempting to connect your mobile device to your computer.
- For details regarding Mass storage / Data transfer mode, refer to the user manual of your device.
- For software installation and large downloads via ROUTE 66 Sync, we advise you to remove the memory card from your device and to insert it into a memory card reader / writer which is connected to a USB port of your computer. After you finalize the required operations, remove the memory card from the memory card reader / writer and put it back into your device.

Launching ROUTE 66 Sync

After the installation of ROUTE 66 Sync, or each time you start your computer, your new desktop application is available in stand-by mode in your system tray in the bottom-right corner of your screen. From here you can manually open the application, search for updates or exit the stand-by mode.
If the navigation software is already installed on your device, then ROUTE 66 Sync will start automatically as soon as you connect your device to your computer.
The hardware model and the version of the navigation software of the device that is currently connected are displayed in the upper-right corner of your screen. You can also select Tools > Device information for further details.
ROUTE 66 Sync can detect multiple devices which are connected simultaneously to your computer. Select and use any of the detected devices.
If more than one version of the navigation software is installed on the same device, then each combination of (hardware model - navigation software version) is dectected separately. Select and use any of the detected combinations.
ROUTE 66 Sync uses your internet connection to download online data. Check the online / offline icon in the lower-right corner of your screen:

  • Online (green) - You are connected to the Internet. ROUTE 66 Sync is fully functional.
  • Offline (red) - Your internet connection is lost or cannot be started. You have limited functionality in the MAPS and STORE sections. Where possible, data that you have downloaded before will be used.

How to upgrade ROUTE 66 Sync?

  • 1. Start ROUTE 66 Sync.
  • 2. Sync automatically checks if there is a newer version available. You can also do this manually by selecting Help > Check for ROUTE 66 Sync update.
  • 3. If a newer version of ROUTE 66 Sync is available, then please select Yes to install it.
  • 4. Select Finish to finish the upgrade.

MAPS

When you start moving around the map, you will always access the latest data, free-of-charge.
In ROUTE 66 Sync you can browse the following types of maps:
  • Road maps;;
  • 3D landmarks and 3D buildings;
  • Satellite imagery..

Use the control buttons on the map:
  • Zoom in (+) to street level or zoom out (-) to view the entire globe.
  • Switch from 2D to 3D perspective.
  • Rotate or tilt the map.
  • Show or hide the Satellite imagery, 3D objects or Points-of-interest.

Use the control buttons on your computer:
  • Double-click on the left mouse button for accelerated zoom in;
  • Double-click on the right mouse button for accelerated zoom out;
  • Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom out.
  • Click and drag the map in the desired direction.

Right-click on a point on the map:
  • Select Add to route to add a location to the current route or to start the route planner.
  • Select Save as favourite to add a location to your favourites.
  • Select Show details to view the address details of a location.

Click on a point on the map to view the following information in the top bar:
  • the current weather conditions (temperature, wind direction, wind speed);
  • the address details.

When you start ROUTE 66 Sync, the cursor is positioned on the last place you viewed on the map.
The map data is downloaded from the ROUTE 66 servers and saved on your computer. If you browse the same area of the map later again, then the map data that was saved on your computer will be used.


In the top bar you can also do the following:
  • Select Settings to customize the application.
  • Select Save map as image to create an image file of the map. The file is saved on your computer.
  • Select Print map to print the map.

Search for locations


When you search for locations to view on the map (by clicking one of the search results), to start the route planner (Add to route) or to save for future use (Save as favourite).
There are two search sections:
  • MAPS > Search for locations – select one of the search results to view it on the map;
  • MAPS > Plan routes – use the search results to define routes.

Plan routes

Define, view and save routes using your desktop application. Then, transfer them to your device and use these routes in your navigation application.

  • 1. Click the collapse button on the top bar and select MAPS > Plan routes. Alternatively, select Add to route in a list with search results or on a point on the map.
  • 2. Search and add the departure point ().
  • 3. Search and add the destination (). The route is calculated and displayed on the screen. A summary of the route and the travelling instructions are listed in the Route description section. Select an instruction to view it on the map.
  • 4. Select New to add waypoints ().
  • 5. Select Save and provide a route name. If a device is connected to your computer, select Copy to device to transfer this route to your device. All routes can be found in MY CONTENT > Routes.

To modify the current route:

  • Select the route type: Fastest (car) / Shortest (car) / Fastest (lorry) / Shortest (lorry) / Pedestrian.
  • Select Print route description () to print the travelling instructions.
  • Select Delete waypoint () to remove a waypoint.
  • Select Reverse waypoints () to exchange the departure and the destination.
  • Select Clear to reset the route planner.

In Offline mode you cannot calculate routes!

STORE

In the STORE section you can buy and download additional content.
To buy additional content, create your own ROUTE 66 account and then sign in.
Connect your device to your computer before you access the STORE section!

Create Your Account

  • 1. Select Sign in > Create account or File > Create account...
  • 2. In the registration form, enter a valid e-mail address. Choose a password. Your email and password will be your personal sign-in information.
    You can use the same e-mail address for only one single ROUTE 66 account!
  • 3. Fill in the other fields. Select Continue.
  • 4. You will receive a confirmation e-mail. To activate your ROUTE 66 account, follow the Activate ROUTE 66 account link.

View or Modify Your Account

To view or edit the details of your account:

  • 1. Sign in and select File > View account.
  • 2. Enter your password and select View account.
  • 3. You can change your personal information. You cannot change your e-mail address. To change your current password, select Change password? and type your new password.

Sign in

You must sign in to be able to buy items from the online store.

  • 1. Enter your e-mail address and password.
  • 2. Select Sign in.
  • 3. f you forgot or lost your login password, select Forgot password?. A computer-generated password will be sent to your e-mail address.

Extra content may require a licence of use. Some items are free. To buy an item select Buy. To download a free item select Get for free.

  • 1. Sign in.
  • 2. Select STORE > ROUTE 66 Store.
  • 3. Browse the various product categories and identify the product you need. Alternatively, enter a keyword in the search field in the upper-right corner.
  • 4. Select Buy and choose the validity period. Select Get for free in case of free products.
  • 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 when buying several items.
  • 6. When you added all items in the shopping cart, select Checkout.
  • 7. Enter your credit card details and select Submit.
  • 8. The content is first downloaded on your PC and then transferred to your navigation device.


If you select another device in the upper-right corner of your screen during the checkout process, then all items will be removed from your shopping cart.
For an overview of all your purchases, please select STORE > My purchased items. Here you can check the license type and the validity period of every item.
A voucher code unlocks a certain item.


A voucher code can be used once on a single device.

  • 1. Sign in.
  • 2. Select File > Use Voucher Code...
  • 3. Enter the voucher code. Select the + icon to add the code to your list. Repeat this step if you have several vouchers.
  • 4. Select OK to send the voucher to the server and to start downloading the selected item(s).

Activation of a product with a voucher code may not be successful for one of the following reasons:
- You have made a typing error when entering the voucher code. Please retype it.
- You have used the voucher code before.

MY CONTENT

In this section you can manage the content that you have activated, downloaded, archived or transferred to your device.
Go to My Computer to view the content stored on your computer.
Go to My Device to view the content stored on your device.
Go to Content alerts to view the content that requires your intervention.

Your services and content

In the My Content section you can do the following:
  • View downloaded and activated content, activated services and not yet activated services.
  • View product information, including purchasing details and samples.
  • View the current status of each item (the Rights column).
  • Buy items.
  • Download items.
  • Transfer items from your computer to your device (and vice-versa).
  • Remove items from your computer or from (the memory card of) your device.

How to search for content updates?

  • 1. Connect your device to your computer. Alternatively, you can use a memory card reader / writer.
  • 2. ROUTE 66 Sync checks if the online content is newer than the content you already have on your device. You can also do this manually by selecting My Content > Search for content updates.
  • 3. Select Update. The content is first downloaded to your computer and then transferred to your device.

Content alerts

Content alerts refer to the following situations:
  • certain items are not activated yet;
  • certain temporary licenses have expired or are about to expire;
  • certain content is incomplete (the download process was aborted or interrupted).
  • 1. Select MY CONTENT > Content alerts.
  • 2. Select a problematic item and then select Delete to remove it.
  • 3. Optionally, go to ROUTE 66 Store and activate / download the correct item.

Repair incompatible content

Incompatible content refers to versions of the content (on your device or on your computer) which are not supported by the navigation software. For example, an older map (which is stored on your device) can be incompatible with your navigation software (ROUTE 66 Sync).

  • 1. Select Yes in the Repair incompatible content screen or Tools > Repair incompatible content.
  • 2. The incompatible content is removed from your device.
  • 3. The correct content is downloaded to your computer and then transferred to your device.

Your routes

Select MY CONTENT > Routes to view all routes present on your computer and on your device.
Select a route and do the following:
  • View the route on the map and view its route description.
  • Change the way of travelling.
  • Transfer the route from your computer to your device (and vice-versa).
  • Remove the route from your computer or from (the memory card of) your device.
  • Select Switch to MAPS to exit the My Content section and to go back to the map.

Your favourites

Select MY CONTENT > Favourites to view all favourite locations that you have saved on your computer and on your device.
Select a favourite location and do the following:
  • View the location on the map.
  • Remove the location from your computer or device (memory card).

Your backups

A backup is a safety archive of the content you already have on your device or on your computer.
  • 1. Select MY CONTENT > Backups.
  • 2. In My Device window, check the items you want toarchive.
  • 3. Select Create backup or Backups > Create backup.
  • 4. Provide a backup name (or use the pre-filled name). The new backup is then displayed in My Computer window.

The content is visible in the window below.
If you deleted some content on your device which you have previously archived on your computer, you can recover this content. Select Backups > My Computer and then select Restore.
The content is again available on your device.

To view or edit your account details select View account.
To activate items with voucher codes select Use Voucher Code...
To open or close the shopping cart select Open shopping cart or Close shopping cart.
To remove all items from the shopping cart select Empty shopping cart.
To send an order for processing select Checkout.
To exit the application select Exit.

View

To browse maps and plan routes select Maps.
To open the online store select ROUTE 66 Store.
To view the report of all the items you activated select My purchased items.
To view the content you already have on your PC or device select My Content.

My Content

To download an item select Download.
To copy an item select Copy.
To delete an item select Delete.
To choose items select Select, Invert selection or Deselect all.
To check if newer content is available online for the items you already downloaded, select Search for content updates.
To copy on your device the content you already have on your PC, select Synchronise device.

Backups

To create a backup select Create backup.
To restore a backup select Restore.
To delete a backup select Delete.

Tools

To check if there is a software update for your navigation application select Check for navigation software update...
If some of the content on your device or on your computer is incompatible with your navigation software, then please select Repair incompatible content. The incompatible content will be deleted and an update will be downloaded.
To view the screen of your navigation device select Remote control. Only available for Windows Mobile / Windows CE devices.
To view details about the connected device (for example, the installed navigation software and the extra content compatible with your device), then please select Device information.
To set your preferences select Settings...

Help

To view the help topics select ROUTE 66 Sync Help.
To check if there is a software update for your home application select Check for ROUTE 66 Sync update.
To send a message to ROUTE 66 support team select Generate error report...
To view details concerning your desktop application select About ROUTE 66 Sync.

SETTINGS

To view or modify the ROUTE 66 Sync settings select Tools > Settings or click the Settings button in the search bar.

Computer storage
  • Select Downloads to view or modify the location on your computer where content is stored that you download from the ROUTE 66 Store.
  • Select Backups to view or modify the location on your computer where your backups are stored.

Language
  • Select Language to choose the desired language of the interface.

ROUTE 66 Sync updates
  • Select Update automatically to let ROUTE 66 Sync check, download and install updates automatically. For manual updates, please select Help > Check for ROUTE 66 Sync update.
  • Select Ask confirmation before starting the update to accept or deny the start of the update process.

Startup settings
  • Select Automatically start ROUTE 66 Sync when you connect a device with ROUTE software to your computer to automatically launch ROUTE 66 Sync when you connect a device to the USB port which has the navigation software already installed.

Default settings - Restore the factory settings.

Connection

Configure internet connection
  • Select Automatic proxy detection (Internet Explorer settings) to use a proxy server and the Internet Explorer settings (IE > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Proxy server.)
  • Select Direct access to the internet to connect directly to the Internet (no proxy server needed).
  • Select Manual proxy configuration if you know the configuration details (Host and Port) of the proxy server.
  • Select Enable proxy authentication and provide the login details (Username and Password) if the proxy server requires authentication.

Default settings - Restore the factory settings.

Maps

To set the units of measurement, select Units.
To apply a different colour scheme to the map, select Colour scheme.
To choose a language for the map, select Map language. Choose Automatic to let the application pick the appropriate language. Choose Native language names to display the city names in their local language.
To display or hide points-of-interest on the map, select Show Points-of-Interest.
To display or hide favourites and landmarks on the map, please select Favourites.
To display 3D buildings and 3D landmarks on the map, please select 3D objects.
Default settings - Restore the factory settings.

Routing

To choose your default method of travelling, select Travel mode.
To exclude motorways, toll roads, ferryboats or water crossings from your routes, select Avoid motorways, Avoid toll roads, or Avoid ferries.
Speed (Slider) - Increase or decrease the speed of all road types.
Speed - Advanced - View the speed settings for all road types. If necessary, change the speed settings.
Default settings - Restore the factory settings.
